WHY do webpage owners think you want to read only parts of an article?
WebMasters (or slaves) post a lengthy article, full of interesting information and you read five or six lines, and then are directed to, 'click here to read more'. Drats, no thanks, I've better things to do than click to follow.
It reminds me of the hoopla regarding CD's and DVD's when they first came out. You can, supposedly store the entire encyclopaedia A-to-Z and yet, we get 10-songs??? Or ONE movie???
The page is BIG enough, keep the story on the same page and expand it if you must. Nothing worse than "Now, IMMEDIATELY after you pop that wire out, before doing anything else, you MUST..." Please click here if you'd like to con't reading... ARRGGGHHHH! BITE ME!
The webmaster spends so much time developing the page, making everything fit perfectly so the page shows JUST as he/she/they want it. Are they aware I have my settings to override their CSS??? Most people do, to a minor extent, setting their OWN favourite font or colour combinations to view webpages in. WE don't care if the webmaster intended it to be black lettering on a white background - that won't do for us! I want a dark grey background with light grey lettering, in Calibri font, size 16; 18; 36...
I rarely follow a story if it's con't. I can't be bothered waiting for my slow-ass computer to finally decide to open said window. And, what if there are MORE links that I'd like to check out IN the story itself? All of a sudden I am hopelessly lost, playing on the highway like my mother always threatened me with...
No, please, you can fit it into ONE page, please stop making us jump through hoops to find it. OR, have a poll on your page, asking how many person's consider having to click to find the end of a story or article beneficial. Then ask how many actually do it.
It is very annoying... Think of those of us with slower running computers, not slower because they aren't state of the art, slower because we WORK using them and have billions of things going on at any one time - your article, while it may be a very good one, and informative, isn't going to make the review list if I have to click anything more than 'expand' to finish reading it...
Sorry...
*khrys...*
PS: I get the advertising and the 'visited-click' counters, but really, if you've written an article that's good, why do you have to entice me with ads that I'm not going to look at anyway? (I am an advertisers nightmare...) and, yes, I've proved to hundreds of advertisers I truly do NOT RETAIN your ad for even the length of time it takes to download... if I see it at all...

Google apparently needs you to verifiy you are a human and not an android... I guess I am okay with that, after all, no one likes spam... (Except in Hawaii... it gets GREAT reviews there...) Anyway, I appreciate your taking the time to leave me a message, thank you for your consideration. Have a wonderful day... or at least pretend to! luv khrys...
